Welcome to the HBU Vietnamese Student Association! If you don't know already, the Vietnamese Student Association is a group of diverse students that come together to have fun and learn about the Vietnamese culture. VSA is a nationally recognized organization with chapters in almost every university. In the Houston area alone there around 7 major chapters.HBU VSA stands out from the crowd by having one of the most diverse group of members in the Houston area!
HBU VSA is involved in many activities both campus and city wide. We participate in community service events such as the annual breast cancer walk in Houston every October. We host many fun events for our members such a our mixers, Halloween movie nights, Christmas Parties, Kickball tournaments, Karaoke nights, and much much more! Our main event every year however is the Annual VSA Cultural Showcase. Showcase is a competition among the Houston area VSA chapters. Each school is responsible for putting on 2 acts ranging from a skit to a dance all of which must represent some aspect of Vietnamese history or culture. The competition is very intense and the last 3 showcases HBU has come away with 3rd, 2nd and 1st place respectively! And at the last showcase, HBU Throwdown 2011, we added to our success the 2nd place trophy.
